Worked very briefly on the South Water Market in Chicago with his father as a fruit and vegitable broker. But this did';t appeal to him, so he left and becamse a chemist for Jones Metabolism in Chicago. Joined Inland Wire Productss. Co. in Crawfordsville in 1957 - Vice Pres. of Sales - Joined Mid States in 1968 when they took over Inland. - retired 1980. Was elected President of Kiwanis Club in Crawfordsville in 1969.
Albert Hart was very active in the boy scouts, and served as troop leader of troop 623 in Chicago until 1957. When his son joined tropp 664, he joined Scoutmaster Donald Weis as Assistant Scoutmaster for troop 664. He remained involved in Boy Scouts for 60 years, and later became a Scoutmaster in Crawfordsville when he moved there in 1961.

Hart Retires from Mid-States | Albert D. Hart, director of marketing at Mid-States Packaging Systems, Division of Keystone Consolidated Industries, has retired after 23 years of service at the firm. His sucessor is Tom Prince. Hart previously served as divisional sales manager of the packaging systems division before being promoted to director of marketing. Active in community affairs since he came to Crawfordsville in 1961, Hart has served as president and member of the board of directors of the Kiwanis Club. He has been active in the Boy Scout program, both on the local and district levels. A member of the First United Methodist Chruch, he also is a member of the masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite and Shrine. He ans his wife Ruth reside at 10 Locust Hill. They have three children, a daughter Mrs. James Smith, and two sons, Albert Jr and Richard. (Crawfordsville Journal Review 1980) |
Albert D. Hart June 2, 1916-July 29, 2003 | Albert D. Hart, 87, formerly of Crawfordsville, died Tuesday at Boca Raton, Fla., after a brief illness. Mr. Hart moved to Crawfordsville in 1961 and worked as vice president of sales at Inland Wire Products, a division of MidStates Steel and Wire. Previously, he worked for Jones Metalbolism Co. at Chicago until 1957. His memberships included Masonic Lodge, First Methodist Church at Crawfordsville and the Crawfordsville Country Club. He was active in Kiwanis and Boy Scouts, where he served as a Scoutmaster at Crawfordsville and for Troop 623 at Chicago. He was born June 2, 1916, at Peoria, Ill. Survivors include his wife, Ruth Bibbins Hart, Boca Raton; a daughter, Barbara Hart Smith, Holland, Mich.; two sons, Albert Jr. and Richard, both of Centennial, Colo.; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Was called "Hugh" when he was young. For example, in the 1920 Census, living in the household of William Douglass, his mothers's father, he is listed as Hugh D. Hart age 3 1/2.
Lived at 10738 S. Talman Ave in Chicago from 1950 to 1961. Moved to Crawfordsville, Ind. in 1961. 201 S. West St in Crawfordsville, Ind 1961-1967, then at 10 Locust Hill in Crawfordsville. Moved to Deerfield Beach, Fl in 1982.
