Jon Tallaksson probably lived at Aukland between 1430 and 1470. The
farm Aukland seems to have been spared when the Black Plague descended
on Norway in 1349 and was not abandoned like so many other farms, many
of which remained uninhabited for up to 200 years or more. The
Aukland farm has been owned by the same family for at least 500 years,
starting with Jon Tallaksson in 1430. He would obviously have been
descended from a powerful or even noble family as it was very unusual
for a mere farmer to own land in the 15th century.
